VP, Private Equity

Description:

The purpose of the role is to manage deal analysis and execution in Private Equity: including Venture, Growth Equity, and Buyouts. The role requires hands-on work as well as oversight and management of other team members, affiliated professionals, and service providers.

The VP will execute and oversee deal screening and execution: modeling, SWOT, IOI and LOI, diligence, capital structuring, transaction execution, and post-transaction transition.

Engagement Lead: Head of Finance or Investment Partner

Responsibilities:

  • Lead engagement with bankers, sellers and their affiliates to obtain necessary information for deal screening and modeling

  • Work side-by-side with and oversee Investment Associate’s valuation and capital modeling, SWOT, IOI and LOI development

  • Engage the firm’s team members and affiliated professionals to provide expertise in the customization of the due diligence plan

  • Coordinate and oversee the diligence process, including engaging 3rd party experts and service providers, with the Associate acting as the day-to-day diligence project manager

  • Serve as point of communication to seller and seller’s team to build rapport and confidence in the deal

  • Develop the investment presentation and, along with the BIP leadership team, present to LPs and lenders to secure capital

  • Engage with legal to develop deal documents

  • Engage Operating Partner, Investment Partner, Advisors and other team members to create the 100 day post-transaction plan

  • Manage the plan through, leveraging Operating Partners, Investment Partners, and Advisors 

Qualifications:

  • Proven PE relationship, process, quantitative and qualitative abilities

  • Experience executing and independently managing deals in small to middle-market PE

  • Early career experience modeling PE deals

  • Experience presenting banks with capital structures and negotiating financing

  • Experience developing rapport with sellers, and supporting their understanding and comfort with deal structures

  • Professional demeanor and presence

  • Commitment to timeliness and reliability

  • Exceptional work ethic

  • MBA or BA / BS degree with 8+ years of relevant experience

  • Top-ranking academic credentials from outstanding institution/s

  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel

Location: Boston Area Preferred

Travel: May require company site visits
